Local Burgers Are King In Vermont
By Craig Altschul December 14, 2007
The chefs are happy. Michael Breen, the executive chef at Okemo says that cooking with fresh, local ingredients makes a difference in taste and preparation. "Not only does it enhance a visitor's experience, it supports local agriculture and the Vermont way of life."
There's a souvenir included, too. It's a wooden toothpick (locally crafted, of course) engraved with the words "Buy Local" and "Ski Vermont" on it. You'll never know how good grass tastes until you take a big bite out of a Vermont burger.
