Big Apple To Steamboat: Flying Direct On Saturdays
By Craig Altschul July 09, 2007
Steamboat resort will be taking a bigger bite out of the Big Apple. The New York market growth is part of a continuing flight pattern into Steamboat/HDN Airport (22 miles from the resort) from 10 cities.
Saturday flights via 757 aircraft have been added from JFK Airport on Delta Airlines, while that airline's flights from La Guardia Airport have increased from just six Saturdays last year to service for the entire season.
Passengers are in for a surprise when they "debark" and discover a spacious new $18 million terminal (it opened in February this year).
"This season will irrefutably be the biggest in the history of nonstop flights into Steamboat," says resort VP Andy Wirth. "This will make Steamboat even more easily accessible from major markets across the country and globally."
Skiers can fly direct to Steamboat this season from Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Newark, Atlanta, New York, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis/St. Paul, and Denver. Airlines are American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United, and United Express.
