Oregon's York Announces Senate Candidacy

Carol York, editor of Ski Oregon and the Gorge Guide®, has announced her candidacy for the Oregon State Senate.

Her senate district, 26, encircles Mt. Hood and includes the Mt. Hood Territory and the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.

A former cross country ski instructor, alpine and Nordic collegiate racer, York says her understanding of contributions made by the ski industry to local economies and how ski operators can enhance environmental stewardship will only help her if her senate bid is successful.

A Hood County commissioner for the past nine years, York also owns Gorge Publishing, Inc.
