USSA to Resorts - "Let's Partner Up"

By
October 03, 2005

Speaking at the Northeast Winter Sports Summit, held earlier in September at Bretton Woods, N.H., Tom Kelly, Vice President, Marketing Communications for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, made it clear that the Olympic group is aggressively promoting itself and would love some help.

Kelly said that USSA was "looking for opportunity for partnering" as well as interested in beefing up its fan base. "If you can come up with a meaningful contest at your resort and share names with us, we'll help you" pay for and market it, he told the attendees.

Kelly also announced that the USSA is dubbing the first day of Olympic competition in Torino, Feb. 11, as "U.S. Ski Team Day." His organization will supply the marketing for any resort that contributes $1 per ticket from that day to the USSA.
