Moseley Soars, Crowd Roars, Icer Scores - Neighbors Glower

After all the politics and protest, hoo-rah and hype, a Nevada ski wax company's plan to turn one of San Francisco's steepest and most photographed streets into a trick ramp went off with nary a hitch Thursday.

Bay Area Olympian and company spokesman Jonny Moseley made a couple of runs but largely left the competition to "the younger guys," who included aerialists Sean Field, Travis Park, and T.J. Schiller, among others.

Thousands turned out for Thursday's competition, drawn by the snow and temperatures pushing into the high 70s. Although neighborhood residents had complained about crowds and noise, police said no major incidents were reported.
