Marco Island Redux: NSAA's Berry "Excited" About Switched Venue

By
September 19, 2005

Scrambling like every other organization to move its planned convention away from devastated New Orleans, the National Ski Areas Association will return to a "significantly renovated" Marco Island, Fla. resort for its annual convention May 22-25.

President Michael Berry told The Industry Report that he had recently re-visited Marco Island Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa, a site not everyone in the trade group was happy with when its national meeting was held there several years ago.

They've added "very nice complimentary meeting space. They're renovating the lobby and they will have renovated most of the rooms by the time we get there," he said. NSAA had already chosen Marco for its 2008 convention when Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast. Thus it was at the top of NSAA list of alternatives, Berry said.
